Carol Ellis
Carol Ellis grew up in the once small town of Ft. Lauderdale, in the Las Olas Isles, with salt in her hair, sand on her toes, and sun in her heart. After earning a degree in Journalism from the University of Florida, she became an ocean voyager aboard the Yacht “America”. Some 48,000 nautical miles and seven transatlantic crossings later, having seen the world as a lucky few have, Carol came to Ocean Reef, and stayed.
Thirty plus years later, when you think photography at Ocean Reef, there is one name that comes to mind - Carol Ellis, or Little Salt as she is known by her nickname, derived from Carol’s maiden name “Salzlein”- Salz (Salt), and Lein (Little), hence Little Salt. Her experiences photographing at Ocean Reef could fill volumes, however she vows to treat the moments witnessed and captured with her camera, with total confidentiality, as she respects her client’s right for privacy. Carol’s subjects have covered the spectrum from large families, children, events, corporate executives, performing artists to Heads of State.
When you book a photo session, you can be assured Carol will spend the time and effort to achieve a well composed, artistic interpretation of your family or loved ones. She is well versed in portraiture, retouching to create the “perfect” photo, and advanced black and white and color printing. Carol is passionate about nature, and for landscape photography, and has worked on projects concerning “at-risk” natural areas.
